Safe2Drive arrives into the blogging community today March 31, 2009. Safe2drive home office is located is sunny San Diego, California. We started doing business approximately five years ago. California was the first approved State with Nevada, Texas, and Virginia coming soon after. We are now approved in Arizona and Delaware and will be putting a bid into Indiana very soon.
We are an online traffic school or in some states it is called defensive driving school. People get tickets and take traffic school so their insurance company doesn't raise their insurance premiums. Traffic school is easy and at your own pace since the student can log on and off as they please AND the student can do it from their work or home computer. Our class has a multifaceted format with audio, video and written components. I wouldn't necessarily say it is "fun" but it offers is an opportunity to review driving practices and reminds the student of safety practices as well.
Each state has different rules regarding traffic school classes. For example, online traffic school programs in California are monitored by each county. Therefore, what you must do depends on the county in which you were ticketed. After you are ticketed, you will receive a courtesy notice about two weeks after getting a ticket. The courtesy notice tells you if you are eligible for traffic school. After completing traffic school the court will dismiss your charge, and the DMV will not assign any points to your driving record. This means that only the court will be aware of the ticket and that you attended traffic school. Most importantly, your insurance company will not know.
